Take a look around your living space –– is that pile of shoes growing or are those papers on your desk multiplying overnight? Before it gets out of control, take a deep breath. Order in the House has a few DIY storage tips that should get you back on the right home organization track:
- Shoe storage is a friend, not a foe. Nothing can quite clutter up a foyer, closet or bedroom like shoes, even if they’re organized in pairs. Cary, NC professional organizer Deb Zechini recommends using clear, stacking shoe bins. These containers can save you space and allow you to get rid of some of the clutter in your bedroom or closet.
- Tote up your bathroom. With lotion, shampoo, conditioner and perfume/cologne bottles out on a counter, it is easy to clutter up your bathroom. Use clear, plastic totes to declutter your space and organize bottles by type and purpose. They work for makeup and makeup brushes, as well!
- Even handbags need a home. Purses can be tricky. They come in all shapes and sizes, making them a burden to organize effectively. Not to worry, Deb has the perfect DIY storage tip. Invest in some storage bins to clean up that section of your closet. Clear bins can help you see what’s inside, but opaque, lidless bins can work just as well.
